Overview
La Trobe opened in 1967 with around 550 students. Since then the University has become a leading innovator in tertiary education with an emphasis on sustainability and inclusiveness.

Location
La Trobe is located on several campuses in the state of Victoria in Australia’s south east. Each campus is located in a city or regional centre, from Melbourne, the state’s capital, to Albury-Wodonga, on the border Victoria shares with New South Wales. Locations include capital city environments and regional agricultural centres and the University’s research and academic activities are as diverse.
Campuses
Bundoora (Melbourne) campus is the main campus, located 30 minutes’ drive form Melbourne CBD on 330 hectares of bushland and its facilities include student accommodation, the Melbourne Wildlife Sanctuary, extensive research and development facilities, art museum and restaurant, shops and entertainment venues.
Bedigo campus set on 33 hectares of bush land and is serviced by a regular bus service from Bendigo railway station. This regional centre is located about two hours’ drive from Melbourne and is adjacent Bendigo National Park. Facilities include student accommodation, medical and counselling services, modern teaching and learning facilities and student association and clubs.
Albury-Wodonga campus is set on 26 hectares of bush land close to Wodonga, near the New South Wales border. Facilities include teaching and learning facilities housed in modern architecture, excellent library, limited on campus accommodation with assistance finding accommodation off campus, bookshop and banking facilities.
Melbourne (City) campus is located in Melbourne’s heart and provides to the shops, restaurants and other facilities available in the state’s capital. Its facilities include meeting and teaching rooms available for hire to the public, and this campus specialises in postgraduate courses and short courses for the health and legal professions.
Mildura campus is located in the centre of Mildura in Victoria’s north west. It is a smaller campus and closely linked into the local community. The campus provides counselling and financial assistance and career planning, child care services, video conferencing facilities, Migrant Education Centre, and on campus accommodation.
Shepparton campus is located 180 km north of Melbourne. The campus offers library and computing services, student accommodation options, small class sizes, and short and single subject courses.
Beechworth campus is housed in hertiage buildings three hours drive from Melbourne with ready access to regional Victoria and New South Wales. This centre provides facilities for conferences, seminars, professional development and special events.
Courses

English Courses
La Trobe offers English language and foundation courses at the La Trobe International College housed on the Melbourne (Bundopora) campus, which includes General English, Business English and English for Further Studies.
Entry Requirements
Academic requirements for undergraduate entry may vary from course to course, while English language requirements are generally an IELTS of 6.0 overall with no band less than 6.0.
Postgraduate admission generally requires successful completion of an Honour’s degree or a Masters or the recognised equivalent. English language requirements are generally an IELTS of 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0.
