Location

QUT is located in Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, and enjoys the advantages of being centred close to the heart of the city. Brisbane is a friendly, affordable, sub-tropical city on the east coast of Australia, with a population of about 1.8 million people. It is a modern, cosmopolitan and friendly city which offers all the facilities and resources of a major Australian capital without being overwhelmingly large or crowded.

Campuses

Gardens Point campus is ion the heart of the CBD, allowing close connections with business, industry and government. Facilities include science and computer labs, heated swimming pool, wireless internet, sporting facilities and gym, library, student counselling and health care services, a theatre and an art gallery.

Kelvin Grove campus is just north of the CBD and offers student accommodation, counselling and health care services, sporting facilities and gym, cafes and restaurants, wireless internet, and creative arts studios and spaces.

Courses

QUT overs a wide range of courses in Built Environment and Engineering, Business, Creative Industries, Education, Health, Human Services, Information Technology, Law and Justice, and Science.

English Courses

QUT international College offers international students a range of English language programmes including General English, English for Business, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), EAP Plus, English for Tertiary Preparation, Cambridge First Certificate in English Preparation, Study Tours and Special Programs.

Entry Requirements

Academic requirements for undergraduate admission is generally the successful completion of the equivalent of Australian Year 12 High School, and for postgraduate admission is generally the successful completion of the recognised equivalent of a Bachelor degree.

Generally, English language requirements for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses are an IELTS of 6.5 overall with no band less than 6.0, though this may vary depending upon the course chosen.

Enrolment dates

There are no closing dates for applications but students are advised to apply well in advance of their desired commencement to allow time for processing.

Student activities

There are student clubs on campus and a range of sporting, recreation and entertainment options on campus and in Brisbane city. Students often organise spontaneous and informal recreational and social activities among themselves.
