Location

The UTS is based in the Sydney CBD, close to all the action at the heart of one of Australia’s most cosmopolitan and multicultural cities, and centred within easy reach of business, government and community. The second campus is in Kuring-gai, not far from the CBD and close to national parkland.

Campuses

Broadway campus is the main UTS campus a short walk from the heart of the Sydney CBD and close to public transport giving access to the whole of the city and suburbs by bus, rail, and car. Facilities are divided between several sites off Broadway – Haymarket, Ultimo and Blackfriars (Chippendale). These sites are in easy walking distance from each other on Bradway, just near Central Station, the city's main suburban, intra- and inter-state rail terminal.

Kuring-gai is located on bushland at Lindfield in Sydney’s northern suburbs, not far from the Lane Cove River and national park areas. It is serviced by bus and train links to the city and it prvovides parking, child care and student accommodation.

Courses

The UTS offers courses in the following subject areas: Business, Communication, Design, Architecture and Building, Education, Engineering, Information Technology, International Studies, Law, Nursing, Midwifery and Health, and Science.

English Courses

The UTS provides English language tuition through INSEARCH it English language centre which offers Direct Entry English Programme and Academic English Pathway courses to international students.

Entry Requirements

For most undergraduate courses, an IELTS of 6.5 with a writing score of 6.0 is necessary, as is the successful completion of the recognised equivalent of Australian Year 12 High School. IELTS is higher for some courses.

Postgraduate admission usually requires an IELTS of 6.5 with a writing score of 6.0, though some course requirements are higher. Academic requirements are usually the successful completion of the recognised equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree for postgrad coursework, while postgrad research requirements are higher.

Enrolment dates

Autumn semester (March) - 15 December
Spring semester (August) - 15 June

Students are advised to well in advance of their intended commencement to allow time for processing applications.

Student activities

There are regular sporting, social and entertainment activities organised through campus services, a peer support network for international students and many informal, spontaneous activities the students organise among themselves as they settle in to life at UTS and get to know other students.
